The DKW German Bight and DKW German Baltic Sea Coast connect seamlessly to each other, as well as to the DKW 1800 series and the DKW UK1 for the English and Scottish East Coast. They share the same chart image: deep water is white, shallow water goes from light blue to green.

There are 72 revised files, with new editions appearing for the charts in the variable German Wadden Sea, the Ems, part of the Elbe, around Heligoland and the North Frisian Islands (near the border with Denmark).

There has been another change in the chart layout. As a result, there are also slightly more files: the current set consists of 166 charts (including harbour plans). There is an improvement in the coverage of the Pomeranian Bight at the Polish border and extra detailed charts have been made of the Peenestroom.

DKW Southern France - 2025 Edition

This completely renewed water chart offers even more detail and coverage, making it the most complete chart for French inland waterways. Ideal for your trips through France, towards the Mediterranean or Atlantic coast.

What is new?
  • The chart has been expanded to include the tidal waters at La Rochelle and the Bay of La Gironde (northwest of Bordeaux), with beautiful detailed depth images of the many marshes and other obstacles.

New feature in WinGPS 6-2025: Read barometer


In the upcoming 2025 edition of WinGPS 6, expected to be released in spring 2025, we will add the ability to read NMEA data from a barometer. This will allow you to further refine your route planning and be even better prepared for the water.
 
Why is this interesting to you?

With up-to-date GRIB files on board, you have forecasts of air pressure, wind force and direction, temperature and precipitation. This helps you plan your route and estimate weather conditions.

With a barometer on board, you can also measure the current air pressure and easily follow its development. As you may know, high air pressure often indicates stable and good weather, while low air pressure predicts worse weather. A sudden drop in air pressure can indicate approaching stormy conditions.

By combining these data, you can estimate weather changes better and earlier, even if you do not have internet on board. This gives you the opportunity to adjust your route or make preparations on board in good time.
