DKW 1600+ North Sea Coast NL
Now with alarm zones!

Are you familiar with the DKW 1600+ yet? This clear digital nautical chart was specially developed for the Dutch North Sea coast and is ideal for voyages on:

  • the Westerschelde up to Antwerp and Ghent
  • the Rijnmond area
  • the North Sea coast of the Netherlands and Belgium
Thanks to the weekly BaZ updates and the familiar color scheme of the DKW 1800 series, this chart set seamlessly complements your other DKW charts.

New: Alarm zones
Anyone who has ever sailed on the North Sea knows how busy, varied, and demanding these waters can be. Take wind farms, for example: you are allowed to sail right through some, but at others, you risk an unwelcome visit from a patrol boat and a hefty fine.

To provide more clarity, we have added alert zones to the DKW 1600+ in collaboration with other professionals. At a glance, you can see which areas have restrictions, such as wind farms and nature, anchorage, and test areas. You can click on a number of zones for additional information.

If you do sail into a restricted area, WinGPS will warn you with an audible signal. This way, you have everything at hand to plan a safe route and complete your voyage worry-free.

Please note: These new alert zones can only be used in WinGPS 6 Pro, Voyager, and Inland (2026 & newer). Check your WinGPS version now and upgrade if necessary.

New: VHF zones

In WinGPS 6 Pro, Voyager & Inland 2026 edition

Always have the right channel at hand: VHF zones are now available in WinGPS 6 Pro, Voyager, and Inland, starting with the 2026 edition.

This allows you to see at a glance which VHF channel corresponds to that area. Clicking on it provides more information.

The VHF zones can be fully customized: they can be turned on or off per country, or made active but not visible on the chart. This keeps your chart view uncluttered while sailing.

At the top of WinGPS, next to your SOG and COG, you now also see the VHF zone of your current position. See the image below.

Equipment

Reliable equipment is the foundation of safe navigation. An outdated laptop or a malfunctioning GPS receiver can jeopardize the journey for you, your family, and your boat. Therefore, always check thoroughly before you set off to ensure everything is still working properly.

Is your laptop due for replacement? After a period of hibernation, there are often still many Windows updates waiting. It is also good to know that Windows 10 is no longer supported by Microsoft, and we recommend switching to Windows 11.

Before you set sail, we recommend always checking the GPS receiver first. Start your version of WinGPS and check if the GPS receiver is getting a good fix. Is this not the case? In our online shop, we have two types in stock that we can ship immediately.

In commercial shipping, AIS has been mandatory for years, and nowadays many pleasure craft also sail with AIS, which enormously increases safety. In the Port of Antwerp, AIS is already mandatory, including for pleasure craft.
On our site, you will find a selection of AIS transponders that we offer from the German company Weatherdock. These AIS transponders are safe, reliable, and work excellently with our software. Do you need help choosing the transponder that suits you? Then please contact us. We can deliver most AIS transponders within a few days, fully programmed with your data.

Program updates - Now with a €20 Easter discount!

The added value of an up-to-date navigation program is often underestimated. By keeping your WinGPS updated, you are assured of:

- Updates & improvements for the most stable version ever.

- The latest features.

- New NL tidal data for 2026.

- Updates to the waterway network, bridges, and locks.

The 2026 version of WinGPS 6 for Windows has been available since early March. It includes a number of interesting new features, such as VHF zones. Read more about WinGPS 6 - 2026 here.

You can get the latest WinGPS 6 for Windows by choosing a Premium Subscription, or a standalone upgrade:

The new DKW 1600+ is also fully updated and ready for you, covering the Dutch North Sea coast, the Rijnmond area, and the Westerschelde up to Ghent and Antwerp.
