GPS-navigation on your PocketPC
Stentec's new WinGPS 4.1 Mobile Navigator is an affordable solution for GPS-navigation on your PocketPC. Supports DKW1800-series, ANWB/VVV Digitale Waterkaarten, NavKom DKW2, most Maptech BSB charts and self-scanned charts (using DKW Builder). Use the latest DKW Manager to install your charts using an ActiveSync connection to your PDA. Also to be used as a stand alone version without WinGPS 4 or 4L. Inc. simulation mode. Handy Course Up chart rotation with GPS cursor auto centering. On the CD-ROM also DKW Builder Lite can be found for creating small chart sets in DKW2 format for PDA navigation.
For the download version the latest version of DKW Manager has to be downloaded from Stentec's DKW Download Service page. In the current version the English, German or Dutch language can be selected. WinGPS 4 Mobile Navigator is now only supported by PDA's with PocketPC 2003 and 5.0 operating systems. Support for more PDA-types is planned for the future. Because not all technical problems can be solved at reasonable costs, no support will be given to PocketPC 2002.

GPS-hardware
Ideal GPS-hardware solutions for navigation on your PDA are for example a Compact Flash GPS or BlueTooth GPS.

Cartography
The following chart formats are being supported:
- DKW2: Stentec's DKW1800-series for Dutch coastal waters, ANWB/VVV for Dutch inland waterways, NavKom DKW2
for Northern European waters (North Sea, Baltic, Channel, Atlantic)
- Maptech BSB: worldwide coverage. Most charts on recent BSB CD's are supported. Only Mercator on Transversal Mercator projections are currently supported. This concerns charts on almost any new BSB CD. Older CD's may contain some charts in not yet supported projections.
- Self scanned DKW2: with the Stentec program DKW Builder you can calibrate scanned charts and install them
in DKW2-format for use on your PocketPC. Charts scanned with WinGPS Pro 2 or 3 will be supported with a new suitable version of DKW Manager.
