For evaluation download the demo chart sets from uur GPS-freeware page. WinGPS 4L (Lite) is the first (free) version of the new WinGPS 4 series GPS-navigation programs of Stentec Software. Ideal if you want to see your position and track on the digital chart, with your GPS receiver connected to your PC/laptop. All GPS receivers with NMEA-183 protocol are being supported, for example an affordable GPS mouse. Importing tracks is possible from most Garmin GPS receivers. All charts are being shown seamless together as one big chart, this means you can always see exactly where you're heading towards. You can also make annotations on the digital charts. Click here for the main specifications of the WinGPS 4-series.
WinGPS 4L is suitable for the starting GPS navigator, that wants to know his/her position and track on the digital chart. Ideal for example when you're on inland waterways and don't need the functionality of making routes.
When you do need the functionality of planning routes, WinGPS 4 Navigator is the program you need. For the professional navigator who wants to connect multiple NMEA-instruments to the PC/laptop, Stentec is developing WinGPS 4 Pro. WinGPS 4L comes standard with Stentec's DKW1800-series. Updating DKW1800-series charts is easy using the the menu option Charts/Update charts. DKW Manager need to be installed first. A special ANWB-version WinGPS 4A comes with the ANWB/VVV digital charts. The latest WinGPS 4 Lite versions also read the ANWB Wateralmanac yacht harbor data as waypoint group. You can check for updates within the program itself (go to Help/Search for update) |
