General question for Sail Simulator (raising sails, pulling sheets, etc.)

where is the sky?

I read some remarks in this forum and I saw many critics on about realism of SS4. Maybe I'm not a so good sailor, but I found your software very realistic. Then, first congratulations.
Surely, the possibility to make our own boats, could be a good idea.

On the other hand I encountered some difficulties in displaying the sky.
Indeed, on my computer it is white, the same color than the clouds, therefore I dont see sky, sun, neither clouds. Could you help me.
SS4 version:
P4 2 Ghz
GeForce 4 6A Mo DDR

I have a similar problem with mine.
There are 4 layers of clouds you can set in... settings-environment I think.

Can get the clouds to show but very wishy-washy if I turn contrast down
on monitor and gamma up, etc . Monitor getting on for 3 years
old now but other sims seem to show sky clear enough.

Hopefully will be improved in future patches, etc?

I found an old copy of SS 4.0 and the sky worked fine on my computer while SS 4.2+ doesn't! What happened between the two? Also sailing at night the sky appears a rather ghastly white - and when the sun comes up, it's a very square.

Also, I rather like the clothes for the sailers an the old SS 4.0. Will the new SS 5 give us an option of who to put on baord?
