All about BSB

BSB charts are high resolution full color scans of nautical charts of several Hydrographic Offices and other producers. It's easy to select and purchase BSB charts in Stentec's online shop. Most BSB charts for European sailors are on stock. Prices of most CD's vary between 100 and 200 Euro. Upgrading to a next edition is possible with 50% discount, delivering your previous edition. BSB charts are produced by:

• Maptech (USA), almost worldwide coverage
• NV-Verlag (Germany), Combipacks (BSB4 CD + paper chart set) of Baltic sea, Inland Germany around Berlin, Caribbean.
• Soltek (Sweden), CD's from Sweden (e-mail registration)

From edition 2003 a number of BSB CD's are produced under a new BSB4 format, with copy protection. These CD's first need a registration on www.maptech.com. Then you are permitted to install the charts on your PC. Now use the chart/chartmanager/BSB button of WinGPS 4 (or later DKW Manager versions) to convert the BSB4 charts from the CD/BSB Chart directory to your Hard Disk.A second activation is possible using your Maptech user account, or sending a e-mail to Maptech.

All WinGPS 4-series programs are be able to use BSB, DKW and self-scanned charts together in one seamless DKW2 format chart on your computer screen.
