ANWB/VVV Digitale Waterkaarten
In order of the ANWB, Stentec is developing the "ANWB/VVV Digitale Waterkaarten". Ideal for motorboating on the inland waterways of The Netherlands. The CD comes with a special WinGPS 4A GPS-program, which shows your position and track on the digital chart, when a GPS receiver is connected to your PC/laptop. WinGPS 4 supports all GPS receivers with NMEA-183-protocol, for example an affordable GPS mouse. WinGPS 4A includes data of the marinas from "Wateralmanak 2". Your track can also be e-mailed to other users. Importing tracks is possible from most Garmin GPS-receivers (click here for the list). You can make accurate A4-prints of your chart, including your track.
When you want to make routes with waypoints, and you want to have functions like night screen, logbook, distance calculation as well, you can purchase the new WinGPS 4 Navigator, which also supports the DKW1800-series and BSB charts.
Suitable for PocketPC as well in 2005
On the CD-ROM's 'West-Nederland' and 'Grote Rivieren', a WinGPS 4A Mobile program for PocketPC's will be included as well.
Installing charts can me done with the new DKW Manager now containing a PDA button. Simply copy the DKW2 charts installed on your PC to the SD or CF MMC in your PocketPC using a ActiveSync connection. A 512 Mb SD/CF card is recommended.
When a GPS (eg. Compact Flash, GPS-Mouse or Bluetooth) is connected to your PDA, this program will show your position and track on the digital chart.
Users of the 'Noord-Nederland' charts can download this program for free as soon as it is available. The software only supports PDA's with PocketPC 2003 operating system. Support of more types of PDA's is being planned for the future.
