Stentec Software offers free introduction to digital navigation

Stentec Software is now giving everyone the opportunity to get in touch with digital navigation with its WinGPS 4-series for free, by releasing 3 new freeware programs. The programs WinGPS 4L (lite), DKW Builder Lite and DKW Manager can be downloaded for free now. At the end of 2004, a PDA option will become available too.

Create, install and use digital charts
DKW Builder Lite allows users to create digital DKW2-charts for use in the GPS-navigation programs WinGPS 4 or 4L by Stentec. An A4-sized scanned chart can be shaped along the actual chart border, and put on the right coordinates.

DKW Manager installs the chart in DKW2-format. This means the chart is ready for use with WinGPS 4 or 4L.

WinGPS 4L is a free chart plotter by Stentec. When a GPS is connected, the program shows position and track on the (self-created) digital chart, and gives speed- and course-information. WinGPS 4L can also be downloaded with demo-charts.

PDA-version end of 2004
A PDA-version is planned for the end of 2004. With this PDA-version, the program and charts can be used on a Pocket PC with Windows operating system.
