Stentec presents new program for creating digital charts

Stentec Software has released DKW Builder. With this program, people can make digital DKW-charts of any region for use in the GPS-navigation software WinGPS 4 and 4L (freeware) by Stentec.

Digitizing paper charts
DKW Builder allows the user to calibrate his scanned chart. The chart can be shaped exactly by using polygons, which rules out white chart borders, as WinGPS 4 and 4L use seamless cartography.

This way, the user can for example make digital charts of inland waterways (which often aren't available), or make large nautical charts suitable for use in WinGPS 4 or 4L. It is also possible to add updated BSH parts to BSB chartsets, or add detail charts to existing chartsets.

Free 'lite'-version
A freeware version with some limitations is available too. This version allows the user to create smaller sized charts (A4). These charts can also be used in WinGPS 4 or 4L.

Price and availability
DKW Builder is available in English, German and Dutch language. The full version can be purchased for € 95,- as a download version at Stentec Software (www.stentec.com). The lite-version can be downloaded for free at www.stentec.com.
