Stentec Projects, wind & stream in WinGPS 4 Pro !

Software development Explore the Current & Wind in the WinGPS 4 Pro test version generated from GRIB files of UGRIB, the BSH or the NOOA. Stream and wind will be used in the next WinGPS 4 Pro version to calculate the passage times along the waypoints of a route. This process will be very interactive. For sailing boats the route can be optimized using a polar diagram. Our navigation software team started the development of a GPS-heading sensor based on two low cost GlobalSat MR-350 GPS receivers. The Sirf protocol is used in stead of NMEA183 to compare the position data per satellite, which is necessary for calculating the heading. If sufficient accuracy has been realized this DGPS technology will be used in future WinGPS 4 Pro versions. Sail Simulator 5 development.
