Updating is recommended for safety on board using AIS. Simply use the Search for Update option under help in the menu. Have look at the Release History (EN/NL). The update shows a remarkable number of AIS-ships at good atmospheric circumstances detected from our shop in Heeg.

The picture on the right comes from a KNRM Katwijk demonstration. Most rescue boats own Class A AIS transponders these days. In a next 4 Pro update also AIS broadcasting and Safety Related Messages will be supported.

The new Ship Simulator Pro from Vstep is the perfect training tool for GPS and AIS navigation in New York, Hamburg and Rotterdam harbor. Electronic chart are provided for New York charts are provided. WinGPS 4 Pro Navigator program and Hamburg and Rotterdam charts are optional (Navkom DL02 and Stentec DKW1809 for WinGPS 4 Pro). A WinGPS 4 Pro demo version supporting GPS and AIS is included.

Replay the Race of the Classics 2007 at home !
Sponsoring the Race of the Classics Stentec provided free GPS-trackers for all ships during the race. The main goal was to test the Track-replay option in WinGPS 4 Pro for a main sailing event and using this experience for further optimizing.
Each of the 18 ships sailed with a CD110 GPS-tracker on board tracking the time, position, speed and ground course. After the race all skippers and crew enjoyed the beamer presentation, showing of the development and the exciting moments of the race. Click on the picture on the right for a screenshot.
