New chart sets from Navkom and NV-Verlag!
The Navkom 2008 editions UK3 and UK4 of the Scottish West Coast have been released. Set 3 includes the Hebrides. Also new Danish chart sets. Now available on CD or as affordable download in our online shop. DL2 (German Bight) is expected next week.
More and more NV-Verlag 2008 chart sets are released in the new nv.digital format. To be installed by DKW manger for all WinGPS 4-series programs.
New WinGPS 4 updates
Yesterday we released fine new updates for WinGPS 4 Navigator, Pro and Voyager. All reported bugs have been fixed. New weather and tidal menu buttons are added to simplify the interface (see the buttons in the figure). For Voyager and Pro a good number of 36 Dutch tidal stations have been added, mainly stream upwards along the rivers. Updating is for free. The new WinGPS 4 versions are for sale in our online shop.
Tidal discontinuity problem solved in Pro and Voyager !
The paper stream atlas often shows an unrealistic high difference between 6 hours before and 6 hours after high water. The time lap is only 25 minutes average. For a digital version, like NLTides or Total Tides, this can lead to discontinuities in the flow vectors around low water. Even sometimes a sudden jump in direction can be seen. This problem has been solved in the new updates. WinGPS 4 Voyager and Pro show a fluent flow transition that looks far more realistic than predicted by the previous modeling.
Price reduction AIS-CTRX. See and be seen, now also for you ?
The Trueheading AIS-CTRX Class B 'CS' Transponder has been considerably reduced in price. We hope this will encourage the safety at sea. For starters we defined a special CTRX-Voyager package. The extrapolation technology in Voyager shows a fluent movement of AIS ships on the chart. Also a handy time slider can be used to show the most likely positions of AIS ships. In Europe Inland-AIS will be introduced for all cargo ships starting in 2009. Skippers can easily update the CTRX firm ware as soon as the new protocol has been defined.
Multiplayer session Motorboat Simulator!
We invite all Motorboat Simulator license holders for an open multiplayer session on Wednesday 11 June at 19.30 (UTC+2h). Log-in to our session server, select Motorboat Simulator and join one of the multiplayer sessions.
If successful it could be organized regularly on Wednesday. Have fun!
