Visit Stentec at Boot Holland 2005 in Leeuwarden !

From February 4-9 you are welcome to our booth on the Boot Holland boat show in Leeuwarden. In the Friezenhal booth 519 Sail Simulator 4.2 and the new Motorboat Simulator 1.2 (Inc. KNRM-rescue boat) will be demonstrated. Main topic is GPS-navigation on board with our new WinGPS 4-series programs for PC and PocketPC and affordable new GPS-hardware (USB GPS-mouse and BlueTooth GPS).
New digital ANWB inland charts are shown. Already for sale is the Noord Nederland CD (Friesland, Groningen etc). You can already sign up our order the 2 coming ANWB CD's Grote Rivieren and West Nederland, to be released the beginning of April.
Also information about our new DKW Builder for creating your own charts for WinGPS 4, and our coming WinGPS 4 Pro software and AIS/MARPA module. On the show you can buy our popular WinGPS 4 software and order the new Dutch 1800/2005 edition to be released the beginning of April.

Developments new PDA-option for WinGPS 4 !

At the Boot Holland show version 1 of WinGPS 4 PocketPC Navigator is for sale for an introduction price of 69.90 Euro op CD-ROM (normal price 79.90). Availability reserved, but likely. Intended for navigation with your PocketPC (2003) on DKW2 charts, like DKW1800-series chart sets, ANWB inland chart sets, BSB, Navkom and carts created with DKW Builder (Light). The version 1.0 is ready for use but not all planned options are programmed yet. As usual new version 1 updates are freely available for license holder (downloads). Waypoints, routes and WinGPS 4 synchronization will be implemented before the start of the sailing season. Drawing routes is independent of WinGPS 4L. In the WinGPS 4 version you will be able to draw routes and sync them to your WinGPS 4 PocketPC Navigator.

In March also WinGPS 4 PocketPC Light will be released as simple freeware trial version, which will show your current GPS position, track, speed and course on one chart set at the same time only. Route and track synchronization with WinGPS 4 is not supported.

For optimal use we recommend a memory card of minimal 256 Mb. Installing chart sets (through sync) is performed with a new version of DKW Manager, after you installed the chart sets on your PC. Specific charts from your chart set can be selected for installation on the PDA for an optimal chart image an to save space on your memory card. A new version of DKW2 format has been developed supporting 1 pixel deep MipMaping which speeds up panning and zooming of zoomed out charts considerably (for PDA and PC). To install all 8 Dutch 1800-series sets and all 3 inland ANWB charts you need at least a 1024 Mb SD or CF memory card.

On the new HP Ipaq HX4700 (figure) the DKW2 charts are shown on it's high resolution 640*480 pixel screen. The new BlueTooth GPS with Nemerix chip makes it an ideal combination for reliable GPS-navigation. This affordable 16 channel receiver has a minimal power consumption, no delay, a high sensibility. Also programming of the NMEA sentences is possible. This new BT GPS is for sale on Boot Holland and soon in our online shop.
