Multiplayer in steps

This page will guide you through the multiplayer option of Motorboat Simulator 1.1 (expected November 2003). Read how you can start a session and how you can log in to an existing session. Click on the tumbnails to enlarge the screenshots at each step.

ATTENTION: When you've started a session (server), you have to log in to this session yourself as well.

Starting a session:

Step 1:
You are in the starting screen of Motorboat Simulator. Press the button Multiplayer.
Step 2:
In the next screen, choose Start a multiplayer session.
Step 3:
This brings you to the 'settings'-menu, at connection settings. Enter your settings and pick register session. Click on the icon with the globe (session settings) when you're ready.
Step 4:
Name your session, choose a scenery and enter a countdown time. Determine the track with buoys. The green are the starting buoys, the red the finish-, the blue the port side- and the yellow the starboard-. Go to the next icon.
Step 5:
In the environment settings-menu you determine the circumstances (eg. wind and waves) during your session. Adjust all settings and go to the final icon.
Step 6:
The screen 'session summary' shows all settings of your session. Check if everything's right and click 'start session'.

Logging in to an existing session as a client:

Step 1:
In the starting screen of Motorboat Simulator, choose multiplayer.
Step 2:
In the next screen, choose Join multiplayer session. Motorboat Simulator searches for existing sessions from which you can pick.
Step 3:
Enter your name and choose a boat. Determine your position and direction. Click Join.
Step 4:
Wait while the program is loading.
Step 5:
The session starts!
