I believe in some cases accounts have pretty swiftly been blocked and or removed. Basically a licensee is risking his right to server access (for online multyplayer games).
As far as I know in other cases players who had their access rights to the online multiplayer server revoked, have either bought new licences (in support of furthering development) or gotten themselves a demo - license.
I can only advise to sail with players you can trust to behave themselves, or at least trying to learn to behave
