On July 17th Sail Simulator version 5.0.4.9 was released with amongst others 470 beta, sailing trim, new animations and crew, bow waves, depth/wind dependent waves and support of the French language.

On August 28th update version 5.0.5.4 was released, specially for the Hiswa in-water boat show 2009. This update allows you to sail a Bavaria 36 before the coast of Scheveningen. Also, the performance settings were improved, to make the simulation fluent and the wind, land dependent.

For the next update our team is working on the following interesting subjects:

  • Spectacular tropical sailing area Paradise Island in Thailand(Kho Hong)
  • Transparent water. You can see the shallow spots and the rocks under the surface
  • Improvements on Scheveningen with amongst others turning wind turbine
  • Registering and entering multiplayer sessions for the professionals.
  • Create multiplayer sessions for direct tour- or regatta sailing with others
  • Making your own race area by placing buoys
  • Land dependent wind shears and tell tales on the sail.
  • NMEA export for navigation training with WinGPS 4.

A candidate boat for the next update is the open F18 catamaran class. The 470 will be perfected with help from the International 470 class and Team Coster. We plan to release a version suited for international distribution, before the winter season (end of October).
