Stentec Software has released updates for all WinGPS 5 series to support our new hybrid charts.

The internal waters of Germany, Friesland and The Netherlands will be released in this new chart format. The 2 Inland ENC chart sets of Germany North and Rhine/Donau are available in our online shop now. The hybrid DKW format contains a waypoint database with information divided into groups, such as names, distances, VHF channels and marinas.

De groepen zijn met WinGPS 5 Navigator, Pro of Voyager via Waypoint groepenbeheer naar wens in te stellen. Binnenvaartschippers zijn bijvoorbeeld niet geïnteresseerd in jachthavens. 

 

The new WinGPS 5 Lite also supports the new hybrid charts. However, editing waypoint groups is not possuble in this version.

The hybrid format allows filtering out object while zoomed out, making your charts clear and quick to load. Perfect when loading a database with more than 10.000 waypoints.

Another advantage of the hybrid chart is thatthe names and waypoints are projected correctly in HeadUp mode and do not turn with a rotating chart.  CourseUp volgmode de namen en waypoints rechtop getekend worden en niet meedraaien met het roterende kaartbeeld.

We may expand the hybrid chart format with an add-on database per  DKW 2 chart.

The new DKW Manager changes the way a PDA is syncronized. We appreciate the opinion of PDA users in this matter.

We also further improved the network thanks to the input of WinGPS 5 users.

We recommend all WinGPS user to update their DKW Manager and WinGPS 5 version. This can easily be done trough the 'help' button in the WinGPS menu, the News Centre or by logging into your account on our website.
