Voyager is the newest route planner for sailors and motorboat skippers on open water. This program makes it possible to navigate using the polar of your ship when cruising or racing. This means security whilst sailing and cruising and advantage when racing!

Navigate with digital charts

You will navigate on DKW1800 charts. ANWB, Navkom or BSB charts. You can install the charts with the supplied DKW manager. You can update the newest DKW1800 series with the press of one button (BaZ). With the optional DKW Builder you can make and install your own charts using for instance Google screen shots oryour own scanned charts.

Navigation Laptop on Board

With a NMEA multiplexer or an USB to serial cable you can connect  several instruments to your laptop on board. You easily install a GPS-mouse to your USB COM port. Whilst sailing it is advisable to use a Class B “CS” transponder, like you see in the picture on the right. Good seamanship/navigation is seen and to be seen!

Grib and NL Tides

The GRIB and NL Tides files makes it possible to plot global the wind and stream vectors on the chart. Online updating of an 7 days Grib weather forecast is done by one press on a button. Voyager is equipped with the current/streamdatabase of NL-Tides and the tides of RWS. Ideal for cruising on the Wad. With the BSH currents for the North Sea you can download the German Bight and EastSea.

Polar diagram

In a polar diagram the speed of a sailing boat is committed by different wind speed and courses. When you first start using Voyager, import the polar of your ship by using a set of more  than 700 prefixed polar of types of sailing vessels. This polar you can use to keep your ship on speed and for calculating the estimated time of arrival of your ship and to optimize your route.

Interactive route planning

With the polar diagram are automatically calculated the different passage time alongside a planned route according to predicted wind and current. With the renewed route-interface you can optimize your planned route. By dragging the route points you can determine the fastest route and your ETA. Speed can result in safety.

Time Control

Voyager 4th Dimension. With the time control bar you can look forward to see the changes in the predicted wind, current and the AIS- traffic. Very handy when crossing a shipping lane or when approaching a busy harbor.

Track calculation

As well as for your own ship or ships using AIS you can show the predicted route. Very useful for judging a sea traffic situation and when starting to turn. With the time control switch you can already sail your predicted route.

Vector diagram

With wind-, stream-, and boat speed using the input of your NMEA instruments. The current and direction is using the input of your GPS, compass and log. For sailors ikt is easy when using the lay lines whilst tacking.

AIS-XT

Of all AIS ships and or beacons on the chart you can  retrieve all information. Using the MMSI number and Call sign you can call various ships. The CPA-alarm will warn you for a possible collision. Stentec new extrapolation technology makes a fluent movement of all AIS-ships on your screen. Zooming in the ship will be shown scaled like your own ship.
